Lumpkiller Dies are used as an in-line aid to remove excess zinc from galvanized base material.

‘Lumpkillers’ do as the name suggests, remove lumps of excess zinc prior to the rod entering the first die, therefore reducing the build-up of zinc in the drawing cone.  This build-up would, in normal circumstances, inhibit the flow of lubricant into the drawing zone of the die.
